Organization for Sustainable Action & Change
by Aquarium Navigator Ao-pen

OSACANA is a mission-driven firm that integrates management and IT expertise with education, research, and communications to improve the quality and reach of environmental education—translating insight into measurable action.

Vision

A society where people can always feel connected to nature and living beings.

Mission

Advance the quality and adoption of environmental education in Japan and globally, and equip the next generation to act. We support individuals and institutions to choose a more sustainable future—through management, education, research, and public engagement.

Overview

OSACANA integrates strategy and technology with learning and research. We collaborate with enterprises, educational institutions, and sector organizations to embed environmental education in society and drive sustained transformation.
Under the concept of "Organic System for Action & Change, from Awareness of Nature in Aquariums," we transform questions arising from sensibility and intrinsic motivation into concrete actions and mechanisms connected to society.
“OSACANA” echoes the Japanese word for “fish” (osakana), reflecting our roots in aquariums and our focus on nature and living beings.
By bringing together insights from management, education, communications, and research, and by bridging informal, aquarium-centered learning with organizational and business practice beyond aquariums, we build sustainable systems that translate learning into collective action.

Capabilities

Management & IT Consulting

Growth strategy, digital transformation, and systems delivery—from roadmap to run—balancing societal impact with business performance.

Education & Human Capital

Career education and financial literacy programs for students and professionals, supporting life design and building the capability to learn and act.

Digital Content & Communications

Through the YouTube channel “Aquarium Navigator™ Ao-pen” and other media, we translate the value of aquariums and biodiversity into stories that mobilize audiences.

Research & Thought Leadership

Behavioral studies on people engaged with aquariums and environmental education; we share insights through conference presentations, publications, and talks.

Global Project: A multi-year initiative that re-examines the evolving role of aquariums worldwide.

Outlook

We will deepen partnerships across aquariums, academia, and industry. By linking execution with evidence, we aim to make environmental education a societal foundation—scaling what works and sustaining impact.
